[[Gus Grimeclaw]] has been [[Grulzrarrenth the Incandescent|Grulzrarrenth the Incandescent’s]] Champion for nearly two years now. An antisocial and immature young kobold, he would much rather spend his days fixing up his massive collection of modified firearms than dealing with the mundane tasks that come with running a city. Be cautious in his Challenge if you value your limbs.

The Hoard has several caverns that serve as the primary residential areas for humanoids. Chief among these is the Wyrmgut, a massive cave in the very heart of the mountains. As with all human-occupied caverns in the Hoard, public transit exists in the form of enclosed minecarts that navigate the mountain range’s internal rail network. For those lacking darkvision, purple motion-activated gems provide light when needed, but go dormant when not in use to conserve energy and avoid disrupting the many pseudodragons that nest in the stalactites on the ceiling. The Wyrmgut used to feature several museums, environmental research facilities, and art galleries. These have mostly been torn down in the past two years. In their place, Gus Grimeclaw has had an arcade, a gun range, and a laser tag facility constructed. While some residents have complained about the cultural losses, more glass-half-full folks have countered by pointing out that you can trade 80,000 tickets in for a laser cannon at the arcade, and if that’s not culture then what is?

Other major caverns include the Wyrmhorn and the Wyrmtail, positioned at the north and south ends of the Wyrmspine respectively. These and many other caverns are connected by minecart, but there are plenty of “off the grid” areas within the mountain range. Spelunking is a popular activity, but always comes with the risk of running into wyrmlings or, in rare cases, the lair of a more powerful dragon. Since the death of Grulzrarrenth, some dragons have fled the continent or been killed. However, plenty of young dragons and some (estimates range from two to twelve) adult dragons still live somewhere within the mountain range. These creatures’ feelings on humanoids range from curiosity and amusement to a deep-set hostility at what they see as the murder of their king.

The territory of the Hoard extends to the surface as well. The most famous building on top of the mountains is [[Limeshine Manor]], a massive limestone castle that Grulzrarrenth lived in when he felt like taking a more humanoid form. The moat has been drained, the firebombs and poison pressure plate traps removed, and the building has been converted into a sort of historical archive detailing the past several centuries of the region with an emphasis on draconic education. Kids can enjoy the “Match the Dragon Color to Damage Type” section while parents stick around to watch the forty-minute documentary film “Coastal Caverns: A Gold-Medal Idea for Bronze Dragons”.

A few miles north of Limeshine Manor is [[Wyvwright Keep]], a refurbished castle that is the current headquarters of dragon chasers [[Division Draconic]]. The building is connected to a network of tunnels so that members can follow their targets either by air or deep into the earth. Footage from these expeditions is used on the show “Division Draconic: Wyrm Quest", a Channel 13 property which airs twice a week to tens of thousands of viewers. The main host and leader of the Division is a half-orc man named [[Gash Knox]], winner of Challenger Weekly’s “Most Rugged in a Way Where You Can Tell He Came From Money” award. A larger-than-life figure, Gash can often be seen around the Hoard filming promotions for the show or losing fights at one of the Wyrmgut’s many dive bars.

A final lake-based activity that many tourists enjoy is Sven’s Scuba. [[Sven Friis]] was the Champion of Keu for about two and a half months before getting violently ousted, but has managed to turn his minor fame into a successful business venture. For just sixty gold, you get two water breathing potions and a pair of flippers that raise your swim speed to your walking speed. There are three main locations to choose from: the Shipwreck, the Vents, and the Habitat. Participants do have to sign a waiver that says that Sven is not responsible for bodily harm and that they will not swim too deep; the bottom of Keu Lake is rumored to be home to myrmidons and even more dangerous creatures.

Keu also has one of the more significant historical buildings in Norn. Unlike many Lords who tended to wander and left no trace of their presence besides the magic and abilities passed down to their Champions, Giomu had a lair that has been preserved in the center of the city. While he had no thumbs to speak of, tales from a century ago confirm that the chimera attracted swarms of elementals wherever he went, until they all converged on this spot and bent to his desires, constructing chambers fit for a king of monsters. The central plaza of Keu is built around four connected throne rooms, which Giomu could move between depending on which of his four heads was in command. The rooms are as follows: the Snake Room, a dim obsidian fortress with purple decor and thin rivers of acid on the ceiling and floor; the Salamander Room, an igloo-like structure that has deadly icicles hanging from the ceiling; the Goat Room, which is constructed from yellow quartz, and the Lion Room, a room carved from jagged rocks that is full of steam vents, creating a sauna-like environment. It has a beautiful blue-green tinge and is fairly clear, but its incredibly high salt content means that it is very easy to float in it. While many people just go to some of the many seafood restaurants and relax in the shallows, there are also many activities near and in the lake. The Mud Mephit Spa is extremely popular. Run entirely by mephits (small elementals made of mud), this spa boasts the best baths and exfoliation in all of Norn. No one is entirely sure who summoned the mephits or where the money they collect goes, as mephits have no need for currency. For the more adventurous, the city’s brochures recommend Weird Watersports. This enterprise has somehow tamed a large group of water weirds, an amorphous type of water elemental that can take on any shape. Once rented, they can be used as jetskis, tubes, water skis, or any other water-based contraption.

A final lake-based activity that many tourists enjoy is Sven’s Scuba. [[Sven Friis]] was the Champion of Keu for about two and a half months before getting violently ousted, but has managed to turn his minor fame into a successful business venture. For just sixty gold, you get two water breathing potions and a pair of flippers that raise your swim speed to your walking speed. There are three main locations to choose from: the Shipwreck, the Vents, and the Habitat. Participants do have to sign a waiver that says that Sven is not responsible for bodily harm and that they will not swim too deep; the bottom of Keu Lake is rumored to be home to myrmidons and even more dangerous creatures.

Keu also has one of the more significant historical buildings in Norn. Unlike many Lords who tended to wander and left no trace of their presence besides the magic and abilities passed down to their Champions, Giomu had a lair that has been preserved in the center of the city. While he had no thumbs to speak of, tales from a century ago confirm that the chimera attracted swarms of elementals wherever he went, until they all converged on this spot and bent to his desires, constructing chambers fit for a king of monsters. The central plaza of Keu is built around four connected throne rooms, which Giomu could move between depending on which of his four heads was in command. The rooms are as follows: the Snake Room, a dim obsidian fortress with purple decor and thin rivers of acid on the ceiling and floor; the Salamander Room, an igloo-like structure that has deadly icicles hanging from the ceiling; the Goat Room, which is constructed from yellow quartz, and the Lion Room, a room carved from jagged rocks that is full of steam vents, creating a sauna-like environment. Visitors are encouraged to buy some Protection From Energy scrolls before entering.

This low-tech anarchy is epitomized by the central district of the city, a circular neighborhood called [[Saloon City]]. There is no electricity in Saloon City; oil lamps light the many bars, taverns, and pool halls that flank the dusty roads. The folks who live there are an eclectic bunch: you’re just as likely to see someone in a ten-gallon hat and spur-heeled boots than you are to see someone in a t-shirt and jeans. As far as attractions are concerned, Saloon City offers up the simple pleasures in life. Stop by the extremely well-funded [[Creekleaper]] for a pint of Cactusshine, compete for prizes at the weekly [[Greedy Gulch Carnival]], or spend a day betting on the stirges (foot-long mosquitos that circle Varmitville in concerning numbers) down at the racetrack.

Encircling Saloon City is the modern section of Varmitville, which is home to three smaller neighborhoods. The more urban part of the city is home to many hiking trails, dog whatever-you-can-get-on-a-leash parks, and pretentious microbreweries. The western third of the city is known as Cactus Corner. The poorest neighborhood in Varmitville, CC is home to many struggling shelters, orphanages, and mom-and-pop shops. The most evident reasons for the neighborhood’s hardships are the arid land that kills all but the hardiest crops and the lack of government support, but some residents tell tales of a horrendous monster living deep below the sands who brings ill luck to anyone or anything in its habitat. These are almost certainly the tall tales of sun-addled old folks, however.

Varmitville’s eastern third, Earthhaven, is the most unspoiled part of an already eco-friendly city. Winding trails and steep hills are popular destinations for hardcore hikers and bikers, who usually set out with the Varmitville exercise essentials of running shoes, a water bottle, and a loaded shotgun. The local sheriff's office (not government-affiliated, of course) has one person in their Missing Person’s Department and she disappeared eight months ago. Denounced as hipsters, Earth Heads (as residents are informally known) would tell you that it’s not their fault that they listen to more underground music and drink more sustainably-farmed coffee than you. A common tourist attraction is [[Innainaxinai’s Microbrewery]], the second career of formerly acclaimed graviturgy mage [[Innainaxinai the Stout]]. While his batches have rave reviews, some customers wish the options weren’t all so heavy.

The southern third of Varmitville hugs the rocky shores of the Domain of Man. [[Scuttle Banks]] is technically a port, but as its name suggests, it is almost impossible to get a ship in or out of the area. This is not due to strong currents or hidden rocks, but the absurd collection of aquatic monstrosities that make their home just offshore. Sharkbears, merrow, and the occasional crabstrosity lurk below the depths and love nothing more than feasting on the cargo and crew of any ship foolish enough to enter their territory. The actual residential part of Scuttle Banks is actually quite nice. Nautical-themed shops, the famous Scuttle Carousel, and an avid beachcombing scene give it a quaint seaside vibe. It is said that you could once find gold nuggets the size of your first in between the rocks, as well as the finest silks and weapons washed up on the shore from wrecked ships. Nowadays, consider yourself lucky if you find a few silver pieces and don’t lose a finger to the sharp teeth of a water leaper. Finally, a warning to all tourists. Don’t eat the sushi sold by vendors near the beach. The word “imitation” in “imitation crab meat” is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Highacre’s eastern boundary is also lined with fields and gardens, the bounties harvested within serving as a primary food source for residents of the continent. Plant ethics are a topic of much interest in Highacre. Unlike the forces of many Lords, which were slaughtered in bloody combat by humanoids and refused surrender, the hundreds of Awakened plants bound to Aolcedae’s service lowered their weapons (and thorny arms and bundles of poisonous spores, etc., etc.) once their master was defeated. These sentient plants had neither love for Aolcedae nor animosity for humanoids (what affection or hate does the sequoia have for the short-lived creatures that swirl around its forest? They will arise from the soil and do what they will, and one day they will collapse and feed the roots of the passive tree), so they took up residence in the newly founded city and aided in its construction. To this day, many Awakened plants are seen as members of society, carrying out various tasks and in turn ensuring sustainable treatment and farming practices for their Unawakened brethren. An ancient representative, the [[Elder Pine]], serves as an advisor for each Champion of the city.

The plants’ participation in the construction of Highacre is evident in the urban section’s design. Shrubs and cacti care little for efficiency, and thus the city eschews neat grids for long, flowing districts that mold with the shape of the hills and valleys themselves. The Nine districts of Highacre are as follows: Branch #1, Branch #2, Branch #3, and Branch #4 to the north, Roots #1-4 to the north, and the Stem, a mile-long series of freeways that connects each area. The roots are the beating heart of the city. Root #1 is Highacre’s financial sector and Root #2 is full of geothermal energy plants and solar energy processing facilities that power all activities in the city, whether humanoid or botanical. Root #3 is a Charborough-esque sea of factories dedicated to manufacturing and Root #4 is the agricultural district, connecting and expanding into the fields to the east. The Branches are less industrial and more welcoming to residents and tourists, so the vast majority of creatures who live in Highacre are distributed in these four districts. Branch #1 is dedicated to the government, and contains all the city’s municipal buildings as well as Alder’s Judgement Jungle, a massive combination of stadium and rainforest where Challengers undergo his trials and get rewarded for success with a crossbow bolt from the shadows of a kapok tree. Branch #2 is a wealthy residential district with a subdistrict to the north: the Orchid Garden, a haven of vice for the city’s elite. Fine dining restaurants line the golden streetlighted avenues, mixed in with casinos, pool parlors, and speakeasy-like dens serving exotic spirits and hallucinogens. The Garden is rumored to be outside of Alder’s jurisdiction, as his green thumb has been replaced by the iron fist of the Kudzu Clan, a mob run exclusively by plants. Branch #3 has no such moldy underbelly, and is best known for its focus on education. Highacre University is one of Norn’s better public universities, but the district also boasts Chlorophyll College, a school where all classes are taught by plants. Graduates typically excel in the fields of agriculture, biology, medicine, and strangely enough, international finance. Branch #4 blurs the line between the urban sector of Highacre and the unspoiled hills and grasslands to the east. Many of the larger hills have been hollowed out into apartment buildings that house mosses, ferns, and anti-social humanoids who loathe natural light. The tip of Branch #4 is Perennial Park, a beautiful expanse of forests and meadows that is explicitly protected from any humanoid construction. Legal battles have raged for years over this prime real estate, though there are whispers of developers and contractors backing down after receiving various unmarked packages stuffed to the brim with poisonous spores.

Back before the time of humanoids, giants constructed a series of enormous ziggurats in one of their smaller settlements. Today, a few hundred thousand humanoids live in these buildings. Since the ziggurat stairs are far too large to climb, cables cover the buildings and everyone travels in aerial gondolas. Dividers have been put up inside the ziggurats to create apartments, so Weehollow is a popular city for young professionals coming out of high school and college.

[[Arthur Emeric]] is the longest-tenured Champion, having been in charge of Weehollow for just over nine years. This is a great source of pride for Weehollow inhabitants, and replicas of his morningstar can be seen hanging in bedrooms across the city. He is a half-elf (and, if you believe the rumors, half-giant) who stands nearly seven feet tall. The champion of brutish cyclops [[Jamrog the Massive]] has a polished public persona and can be found at charity events nearly every weekend. Arthur does not rely on gimmicks or puzzles in his challenge, beating anyone who manages to reach him by simply overpowering them in honorable combat.

Weehollow is a group of 25 ziggerauts arranged in a rough square. They stand at around 600 feet tall and covered in webs of steel, on which gondolas (spherical cabs that work like a metro and can carry about 10 people each) run up and across. They are all constructed from slabs of sandstone except for the one in the center, which seems to have been carved from a single piece of limestone. This is known as the [[Great Gray]], and its levels include a convention center, the town hall, and the upper floors where Arthur Emeric lives and conducts his challenges.

The city is surrounded on several sides by the ocean, known as the [[Domain of Man]] or just “the Domain”. Many college students and young professionals spend time on the rocky beaches or take boats from [[Weehollow Harbor]] when studying abroad. The [[Wyrmspine]], the mountain range that contains the Hoard, ends to the south, so many apartments have a lovely alpine view.

Weehollow is recognized as the best college town in Norn, and is known for three main schools. The first is [[Hollow University]], the “state school” of Weehollow. It doesn’t have much in the way of specialized or magical education, but solid all-around programs and low tuition for locals make it a popular choice. It has a bit of a reputation as a party school, and students (called “Hollies”) often heavily pregame Arthur Emeric’s fights. The second school is [[Soulspark College]], which primarily markets to sorcerers and other students with innate magical abilities they are struggling to control. It has the vibes of a small liberal arts college and the students, known as Sparkplugs, are considered somewhat pretentious. The final main school in Weehollow is [[Jotun Tech]], which has pretty bad academics but offers a variety of combat-themed majors, such as Bladesmanship and Advanced Brawling. JT has produced a fair number of Champions, including Arthur Emeric. This is a huge talking point for Jotuns in their rivalry with the Hollies.

There are four main neighborhoods in Weehollow. [[Gray Zone]], the central area, is home to the Great Gray as well as government buildings and upscale shops and restaurants. The northwest section of the city is known as [[Helmet Coast]], so named for the protective gear that locals used to wear before the adjacent Jotun Tech and Soulspark College imposed more safety measures to get their students under control (many a concussion was suffered from a rogue Catapult spell). This area has a lot of popular bars and clubs, giving it a rowdy atmosphere at night. The southern neighborhood of Weehollow is known as [[Cobble Heights]]. This area is heavily residential. The 600 foot ziggurats are about 50 stories each, and concrete and metal have been inserted inside to create enormous apartment buildings. Each one is large enough to house about 20,000 people. There are a few major housing companies that manage several ziggurat apartments each, and rent is somewhat pricey but manageable for students and recent graduates. Cobble Heights is next to the business center of Weehollow, [[Venture Row]]. This area’s pyramids are full of standard companies: insurance, healthcare, construction (a specialty of Weehollow), etcetera, but there are also a few more unique businesses. [[Channel 13 Exports]], the merchandise hub of [[Channel 13 Entertainment]], is headquartered here. Many people are employed in factories or advertising firms that create and sell Arthur Emeric trading cards, [[Maxie Tallowtwitch]] hair products, and [[Gus Grimeclaw]] .22 caliber bullets. Weehollow is also home to the [[Champion Archives]]. Run entirely by volunteers working with donations, this organization is the foremost expert on the history, trends, and drama of the Champion Challenge and features stacks of digital and paper records as well as statues and descriptive plaques of all Champions past and present.

Religion does not have a large role in [[Isle of Norn|Norn]] culture. Even those whose powers are derived from deities rarely, if ever, directly interact with holy beings. Icarus, however, is not from Norn. He moved to the continent from [[Commoil]] as a teenager and brought his god with him. Icarus hosts religious education classes twice a month and is heavily involved in setting the curriculum for the city’s schools. The aasimar is a devout follower of [[Cadrus]], a Commolian god of brotherhood and goodwill. This buff angel holding a lantern can be seen in friezes and statues all over the city, but he is omnipresent in advertising. Cadrus is the logo for [[Golden Light Bank]], a financial institution founded by Icarus that is dedicated to investing in the city’s people (trademark pending).

Investment is a hallmark of Paradeisos. The city has purchased many Lord-related relics from the other twelve regions in order to install them in the [[Corridor of Lords]], a museum dedicated to the history of the beings that once roamed the continent. The artifacts within range from the toadstool drinkware used by the pixies of [[Folkloure]] to the shell of one of the beetles of [[Temetul the Inconstant|Temetul]] himself. Icarus sponsors archaeological digs and magical investigations in order to preserve as many pieces of the past as possible. He has also poured resources into the [[Pinnacle Creature Research Laboratory (PCRL)]]. This acclaimed scientific organization has two missions. First, they are tasked with determining how the Lords came to be and how one small island continent became host to so many powerful representations of their respective creature types. Second, the PCRL tries to learn more about the physiology, influence, and arcane abilities of the Lords in case they hold secrets that can aid in humanoid progress. Scientists from across Norn and the surrounding countries have been recruited to aid these missions. Finally, Paradeisos has invested heavily in magical technology. The birthplace of [[Leonorin Ilirona]] is home to the headquarters and main factory of Channel 13 Entertainment. The headquarters, a helix-shaped building that reflects golden light in waves across the horizon, dominates the skyline next to [[Cadrus Coliseum]], the domed building where Icarus hosts his fights. The factory is tucked away on the southern side of the city, a squat building with walls of mirrored obsidian and Leo Ilirona-shaped gargoyles. Ilirona has helped the city patent new magitechnology, such as the demiplane buses that take up the space of a small car but can fit up to 75 people and the Beatific Buds, robotic cherubs that can be rented as babysitters, chaperones, or other types of guardians.

Paradeisos is designed with permanent residents in mind, but there are activities for tourists looking to spend a day or two in the city. Pegasus Hang Gliding is a popular destination for thrill seekers, and the hill is a hotspot for skiing, snowboarding, and sledding in the winter months. The Celestial Cineplex boasts the best movie-going experience on the continent, and its 3D documentaries recreating the lives and conflicts of the Lords are acclaimed in the history buff/Champion Challenge nerd community. Last but not least, no tourist trip to Paradeisos is complete without a trip to the [[Cathedral]]. Built by Koweiki the Wise’s minions, this stunning structure is filled with colorful stained glass and slanted mirrors, making it a dizzying experience to walk through. The benefits of ruling celestials include having a workforce with hands and thumbs, so there are many small statues and murals depicting Koweiki’s great deeds. The domed ceiling of the cathedral has a massive hole and used to be Koweiki’s nest. These days, it is the apartment of the current Champion of Paradeisos and has a million-dollar view that on clear days stretches all the way to the smoke-filled cityscape of [[Charborough]] and the green towers of [[Highacre]].

The sky above '''Vanok Tus''' has been filled with rings of flame ever since the region’s Lord died, throwing the city into permanent dusk. The obsidian buildings are not allowed to be taller than five stories so that the main focus of the skyline remains the massive metal chain in the city center that stretches up into the clouds. If rumors are to be believed, it stretches down to the center of the planet and even further into the fires of the Nine Hells. [[Elsa Shimmerdeath]] is a goth pixie that has held court in Vanok Tus for the last eleven months. She stands about one foot tall, but uses her powers from horned demon [[Lord Xarzad the Damned]] to face down enemies of every size. Don’t make short jokes about them unless you want a glabrezu to “accidentally” wander into your bedroom at night.

Vanok Tus is divided into thirteen prefectures. Twelve of these are contiguous, with the one exception being the small island of [[Nova Point]]. Nova Point has submitted a few dozen formal secession requests, which the Vanok Tus City Council has addressed by leaving the forms under some file cabinet and using modify memory spells to forget which filing cabinet it was, thus giving them plausible deniability. The other twelve prefectures are made of rather irregular shapes. While most people know generally which area they live in, the exact boundaries are on a map that the Vanok Tus City Council regrettably reports was put under a filing cabinet, but by accident this time. This combination of strict yet inept bureaucracy is a conveniently apt metaphor for Norn’s fiend city. Both devils, the lawful residents of the Nine Hells, and demons, the chaotic Abyss dwellers, are fiends, so any city inspired by them is bound to contain regulation and disorder in equal number.

For the more mayhem-minded, one of the most popular activities in Vanok Tus is going Demon Driving. Former Champion [[Burt Grun’dell]], a halfling artificer with a penchant for death rays, bought a few acres of grassland to the east of the city and allows people to battle in his fantastical vehicles until the vehicles break down or the people inside are too injured to continue. Competitors face off in teams of two to three, plus a driver that Burt supplies. Getting a Demon Driving license takes around two years of intensive training, which critics have described as “nowhere near enough time”.

Other adventurous activities in Vanok Tus include leaving your apartment during Elsa Shimmerdeath’s challenge, going swimming at any of the city’s rocky beaches during Dagon season, and attempting the Demogorgon Challenge at Malbolge Meats. Vanok Tus is known as one of the best food cities in Norn, blending the creative seafood preparations of [[Briskain]] with the rich dairy-based recipes of [[Commoil]]. Being residents of the Fiend city, many chefs in Vanok Tus add some spice to their recipes, but none add more than Gustav Hasapis. His Demogorgon concoction consists of a two pound platter of pulled chicken, grilled fish, and stewed beef all slathered with melted cheese and a chili sauce that was cooked using the heat of the Hellchain in the center of the city. Only three people have ever completed it.

Vanok Tus is known for a decently high level of crime, as the devil and demon theme tends to draw dark mages and other edgelords. In order to combat this, a handful of warlocks founded the [[Association of Patron-Enhanced Xenoarcanists (APEX)]]. This organization is a support group for warlocks, providing an academic forum for discussing the latest essays on invocations, fashion tips on how to wear different shades of black together, and therapy for those whose minds have been fractured by repeated contact with eldritch beings. They also host daily Charmer’s Markets, where they sell enchanted pieces of weapons and armor. These range from gleaming swords of fire that only the noblest of heroes can wield to slightly stained gauntlets that turn any rapier they touch into a scimitar.

One cannot tell of the sights and sounds of Vanok Tus without mentioning its music scene. The many concert venues of the city host a huge array of bands whose genres range from thrash metal and doom metal all the way over to slash metal and slaad metal. If you show up to the ticket counter early enough, you might even be able to get into famed dive bar [[Steve’s Place]] and see Elsa Shimmerdeath’s band, Move Over Marilith. Elsa’s custom-made seven-inch long bass sends reverberations across half the city thanks to the magical sound system she commissioned from Burt Grun’dell. Earplugs come free with any draft beer during happy hour.

Cyrus was born in [[Highacre]], but his parents moved to [[Weehollow]] when he was less than two years old. His mom’s name is [[Delilah Gilpenny]], and his dad’s name is [[Grant Wren]]. Wresch was chosen to be the family’s last name as a variation on Wren, and because both parents liked it better than Gilpenny (not because of a patriarchal lineage). His parents worked as plant researchers in Highacre before they moved to Weehollow with their young family for better schools. They researched magical and non-magical plant morphology at the [[Arcane Biology Center (ABC)]], Highacre Campus. The ABC also partners occasionally with other research institutions in the area, including the [[Charborough Institute for Arcanomechanobiological Advancement]]. His parents’ contacts and research associates were how he eventually ended up with his weapon of choice, an [[Electromagnetic Dissipator (Beta Prototype)]], before the project was cut for funds.

He has an older brother named [[Silas Wresch]], and a younger sister named [[Grimme Wresch]]. He gets along just about average with his family, with slightly more communication with his siblings than his parents. Both his siblings are Aasimar, while both his parents are human. The family believes the Aasimar traits were buried in the ancestral line somewhere, though haven’t really looked into it.

Cyrus knows most of his good friends to this day from high school and college. His closest friend is [[Yander Hartfield]]. Other close friends of his include [[Ilmena Spool]], [[Archie Lowry]], and [[Pillip Renner]]. In high school, Cyrus was generally liked though not super popular or well-known. He started a meme account that he continues to this day for a small group of friends ([[@vanoktus_deeznuts]] on [[LeyLife]]). All of these friends and he went to [[Hollow University]], content to get their higher education, but not necessarily expecting to make names for themselves.

Cyrus dislikes the champion competition system for its glorified use of violence, and general instability. His goal (besides bestowing the small amount of justice that comes from bounty hunting) is to become a champion to start instituting changes to the system, or at least get a big enough platform that he could start to get awareness to changing the system. He tries to bring about change diplomatically and sensibly, though will use violence or chaos if he deems it necessary. He also wants to continue to meet people around the continent, possibly uniting the different cities in camaraderie, as he loves building community. He also would like to know more about his Aasimar heritage, and learn to apply his principles of living without being so uptight about it.

Cyrus currently works at [[OrcDash]] in customer service. Even though he doesn’t like speaking over the phone to dozens of random complaining customers a day, he is cool-tempered which automatically makes him good at the job. He lives in a small apartment on the ground floor of a nondescript apartment building near the border of [[Charborough]] and Varmitville, in the neighborhood of [[Shard]]. This location is key, as in his spare time he takes jobs as a bounty hunter (and other odd jobs–information gathering, locating stolen objects, etc.) in Varmitville for individuals in either city. These employers usually are from the underground, but enough barkeepers in Varmitville have seen him around that they can ask for more mundane jobs. One of these who he keeps semi-regular contact with is [DM Discretion].

Cyrus’s most likely haunt in Varmitville is a saloon named [[The Lazy Stirge]], in northern Varmitville. While not the most popular bar, it has enough people to allow him to blend in and connect with some of the regulars, either in the bar or in the back alley for more secretive deals. His favorite drink is their “homemade” Fireball Sarsaparilla (named after Fireball the spell, not Fireball the whiskey).

Cyrus is bisexual, and has shown passing interest in various crushes.

==Challenge Attempts==
Cyrus was motivated to join the champion challenge after a frightening encounter with [[Arthur Emeric]] in 100 AL, alongside [[Annalie Wildflower]] and [[SCSI Sataella]]. Arthur alluded to corruption in the [[Champion Challenge]], which Cyrus hopes to bring to light and rid from [[Norn]]. Cyrus hopes to challenge [[Icarus Finch]] in [[Paradeisos]] to gain access to celestial lord abilities, which would align with his species's celestial ties.
