Urrakus Avernia
Urrakus Avernia is a Nornian tiefling paladin and the former Champion of both Liquicada (68-87 AL) and Charborough (92-93 AL). Avernia holds the record for most years spent as a Champion for his tenure in Liquicada. He is regarded by many as the greatest Champion of all time[1], in contention with Jils "The Queen" Boer and sometimes Micah Livingston.
Urrakus was Champion of Liquicada for 19 years, from 68 to 87 AL, known as a paladin with a mighty spear that could teleport back into his hand and a trifecta of speed, strength, and smarts. Early in his career, he was known as a rich and spoiled playboy, but following a near defeat in 74 AL, the Champion cleaned up his act and became a pillar in the community. After his defeat in 87, Urrakus announced his retirement. However, he returned in 92 and became the Charborough Champion for 15 months, bringing his total time as a Champion past 20 years.
In his middle age, Avernia did not have the same explosive power as before and had to win with wiles and experience. Some fans believe this tarnished his image as an athletic marvel, while others point out it showcased his full skillset, if only for a short time. Urrakus still lives in Liquicada and often attends public events to help raise funds for causes near and dear to his heart.
